January 2026 Recap

I’ve started this post once already and somehow it disappeared, and it’s taken me a bit to get back to it because.. life! 😅

In January, we celebrated my birthday and my youngest daughter’s 1st birthday! How?! How have we made it here already! Time flies and it just doesn’t stop or slow down.

During the month that feels like the longest one of the year, it actually went by pretty quickly this time! Planning a first birthday will do that!

Just over a week after Noelle’s first birthday, she started walking! And she’s taken off since then! She’s still working on her steadiness but she’s walking all over the place without assistance!

We also took both boys, Emmitt and Witten, to the vet last month for their annual checkups! That is a task in itself given how big they are. Overall, they’re doing well but Emmitt does have what we believe to be the very beginning stages of cardiomyopathy. He will need to see a cardiologist to confirm. But taking him to the vet, is very anxiety inducing for him, especially after this last visit since it involved an EKG and x-rays. Poor bub was worked up for a while after, but is back to normal now!

It’s February now and we are going to celebrate my husband’s 35th birthday this month! Malia wants to throw a little birthday party for him lol she’s so sweet and loves a reason to party and have birthday cake!

We are also hoping for warmer days to approach quickly! Last month was bitter cold and very snowy – we are so ready for spring! As I’m posting this, it was over 50° yesterday and looks like it’s here to stay for at least the upcoming week! Sunshine and warmer weather are so good for my mental health!

In addition to being more consistent with posting, I think I’m going to do monthly recaps for the year! It’s nice to reflect on what we did. I still have Bella’s post to make with her diagnosis update but given the cancer diagnosis, she’s doing well! Hopefully things stay this way for a while longer so we can spend as much time as we can with her.

Anywho, until the next post! Thanks for being here if you’ve read this far and still hang around for my inconsistent posts! ❤️
