Dogs, or rather, indoor horses.. As I mentioned before, we have three dogs – Bella, a 13 year old Maltese, Emmitt, a 4 year old Irish Wolfhound, and Witten, a 4 year old Great Dane!
I’ve had Bella since I graduated high school. She was a graduation present from my now husband. She’s an old lady now and really starting to show her age, and weighs maybe 8lbs. It’s so funny to see life come full circle. We got her when we were young adults (still kids, let’s be real) and always talked about what it would be like to have her around our human children. But let me tell you, although she’s slowed down quite a bit, she’s still the Queen Bee and sassy.
Bella – Bell girl, Bell Bell, Old lady 🖤

The boys or “the bubs,” as we call them, are about 10 weeks apart in age, but we got them at the same time! They are some big boys – Emmitt weighing 205lbs and Witten weighing 198lbs. When they were puppies, the vet told us to expect them to be this size but I’ll be honest, I really didn’t believe them. Because what do you mean we just got two dogs that are expected to weigh 200lb+ a piece!? We got them shortly after we purchased our first home and it’s been chaos ever since.. lol
Emmitt – Em, Emmi, Big Em 🖤

Witten – Witty, Big Witt, Duke 🖤

But really, with two small children and three dogs, our household is chaotic most days!
Bella is the boss and even with her small stature, she bosses the boys around.. lol but they know their place in the hierarchy. Emmitt can be stubborn but is easy going. Witten on the other hand, is high energy and crazy. The vet said, if you could diagnose a dog with ADHD, that would be Witten – he was trying to bite a rivet off the wall during a vet appointment. lol
It’s true though when you hear that dogs this size are gentle giants because they really are.. but also a ton of work – I don’t say that lightly. Especially with giant breeds and the risks that come with them. It’s genuinely like having three additional children.
Adding these because they’re too cute not to share. 🖤
